Back for a fourth season at KNSI with your weekly amateur baseball (Town Team) baseball reports. Including not only game summaries, but upcoming schedules, league standings. Tournament summaries and an occasional special interest feature. The plan is to continue to include: Lakewood League, Central Valley League, Sauk Valley League, Victory League South and Stearns County teams throughout their league playoffs, regional and state tourney games. 

CENTRAL VALLEY LEAGUE

KIMBALL EXPRESS 9, WATKINS CLIPPERS 6 (2/26 @ Watkins)

The Express defeated the Clippers in a big Central Valley League matchup. The Clippers had the upper hand early, with a single run on the board in the first inning. Kevin Kramer had a big three run home run in the 2nd inning, to put them up 4-0. The Express came back with a pair of 4 run innings in the 4th and the 5th innings. The Express left nine runners stranded and the Clippers left ten runners stranded on the bases. Ben Johnson started on the mound for the Express, he threw 5 innings to earn the win. He gave up 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Zach Dingman threw 4 innings in relief to earn the save, he gave up 4 hits, 3 walks, 1 run and he recorded 5 strikeouts.  

The Express was led by a huge 3-run home run by Scott Marquardt, he went 1-5 and he scored a run. Scott also hit three line drives in other at bats and nothing to show for it. Adam Beyer had a good game he went 2-4 with 2 RBI and he earned a walk and Austin Ruehle had big game at his lead off spot, he went 3-5 with a RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Joe VonWahlde had a good game he went 3-4 with a walk and he scored a pair of runs. Zach Sufka went 1-5 with a booming double for a RBI and he scored a run and Kyle Winter went 1-5 with a RBI. Ben Johnson went 1-4 with a RBI, Brian Marquardt went 1-5 and Brooks Marquardt earned 3 walks, two stolen base and he scored a run. 

The Clippers player/manager, lefty Matt Geislinger started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 11 hits, 8 runs, 4 walks and he recorded 9 strikeouts. Another veteran lefty, Dan Berg threw 4 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Kevin Kramer had a huge night for the Clippers, he went 3-5 with his 3 run homer, for a total of 4 RBI, two stolen bases and he scored a pair of runs. Lincoln Haugen went 2-3 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Adam Hiltner went 2-4 and he scored a run. Dan Berg went 1-4 with a double and he earned a walk and Gary Peters went 1-4 and he scored a run. Dan Sargent went 1-5 and he scored a run and Tyler Hebrink earned three walks. Heath Kramer had a sacrifice bunt and Logan Linn earned a walk and he scored a run. 

KIMBALL EXPRESS 14, COLD SPRING ROCKIES 6 (5/28 @ Cold Spring)

The Express defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Rockies, backed by a 19 hit attack. Lefty Matt Dingmann started on the mound, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He scattered 10 hits, issued one walk, surrendered 6 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Scott Sufka threw one inning in relief, he gave up one hit, one walk and he recorded a strikeout. Special note; the catcher for the Express is Scott's son and it was the first time in 12 years that he has pitched. Brooks Marquardt closed it out with one inning of relief, he issued one walk and he recorded one strikeout. Adam Beyer had a good game, he went 2-5 with a three run home run, he scored a pair of runs and he earned a walk. Scott Marquardt went 2-6 with a three run home run and he scored a pair of runs. Kyle Winter had a good game, he went 3-6 with a double and a total of 3 RBI. Zach Sufka had a big day, he went 3-6 with a pair of RBI and he scored a run and he caught dad! Brian Marquardt went 3-5 and he scored a pair of runs and Brooks Marquardt went 1-3 with 2 walks and he scored a run. Joey Von Wahlde had a good game he went 3-6 and he scored a pair of runs and Austin Ruehle went 2-5 and he scored a pair of runs. Troy Filzen earned a walk and he scored a pair of runs and player/manager Tom Marquardt earned a walk. 

The Rockies, Jordan Neu, started on the mound, he threw 6 1/3 innings, he was the pitcher for record. He gave up 17 hits, 12 runs, 3 walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts.Trevor Lardy threw 2 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Nick Skluzacek had a good game, he went 3-5 with a home run and a double for 3 RBI. Blake Holbrook went 1-4 with 2 RBI and he earned a walk and Calvin Kalthoff went with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. David Jonas went 2-5 and he scored a run and Marshal Wirtzfeld went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run.  Trevor Lardy went 1-5 and he scored a run and Jordan Neu went 1-5 and he scored a run. Jake Hennen went 1-4 and he was hit by a pitch.  

ST. AUGUSTA GUSSIES 11, EDEN VALLEY HAWKS 6 (5/26 @ Eden Valley)

The Gussies defeated Central Valley League foe the Hawks behind a 12 hit attack. Travis Laudenbach started on the mound for the Gussies, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He gave up 10 hits, 5 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Luke Richardson threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, one walk, one run and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Marcus Lommel had a big game, he went 2-5 with a triple and a double for 3 RBI, one stolen base and he scored a run. Matt Skaja went 2-4 with 3 big RBI and he scored a run and Mitch Gwost went 3-4 with a double and he scored a pair of runs. Brady Grafft went 1-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Aaron Fruth went 1-4 with a RBI, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. Nate Laudenbach went 2-5 with a double and he scored a run and Dustin Schultzenburg went 1-5 with a RBI. Zach Laudenbach went 1-1, Nate Gwost earned 3 walks and Adam Gwost scored a run. 

The Hawks Tanner Olean started on the mound, he threw 6 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 1 walk, 9 runs and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Austin Berg threw 3 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs. Austin Schlangen had a big game, he went 3-5 with a 3 run home run for 4 RBI. Alex Geislinger went 3-4 with a stolen base and he scored a run and Jeff Haag went 2-5 with 2 doubles for 2 RBI and he scored a run. Austin Berg went 2-5 and he scored a pair of runs, Matt Unterberger went 1-5 with a double and Tanner Olean scored a run.  

ST. NICHOLAS NICKS 4, WATKINS CLIPPERS 1 (5/28 @ St. Nicholas) 

The Nicks defeated their Central Valley foes the Clippers in a big upset, backed by a very good pitching performance by veteran Travis Hanson. He threw a complete game, he scattered 7 hits, 2 walks, surrendered one run and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Travis had a great game at the plate too, he went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Tanner Anderson went 2-3 with a RBI and he earned a walk and Sam Moriarty went 1-3 with a RBI and he earned a walk. Hunter Ahrens went 1-3, he earned a walk and he scored a run and Matt Schindler earned a pair of walks and he scored a run. Player/manager Robert Lutgen earned a walk, Derick Kuechle earned a walk and Brett Hofer earned a walk. 

The Clippers, T. J. Frericks started on the mound, he threw 4 2/3 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 4 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Heath Kramer threw 3 1/3 inning in relief, he gave up 2 hits, 3 walks, one run and he recorded a strikeout. Dan Sargent went 1-5 with a double, two stolen bases and he scored a run and Travis Linn went 2-4. Adam Hiltner went 1-2 with a pair of walks and Dustin Kramer went 1-3. Dan Berg went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch, Lincoln Haugen went 1-4 and Kevin Kramer was hit by a pitch. 

LUXEMBURG BREWERS 9, PEARL LAKE LAKERS 2 (5/27 @ Marty)

The Brewers defeated their Central Valley League foes the Lakers, backed by a pair of home runs and very good pitching performances. Austin Klaverkamp started on the mound for the Brewers, he threw 8 innings to earn the win. He scattered 5 hits, issued no walks and he recorded 12 strikeouts. Sam Iten closed it out with one inning of relief, he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Sam Iten had a big day at the plate, he went 3-6 with a triple for 2 RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Nick Baker went 1-2 with a big 3 run home run, 3 walks, one stolen base and he scored 3 runs. Isaac Matchinsky went 1-3 with a big 2 run home run, he earned a walk, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a pair of runs. Austin Klaverkamp went 1-2 with a RBI, he walked and he was hit by a pitch and Chase Aleshire went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and a sacrifice bunt. Derrik Orth went 1-4 with a double and he earned a walk and Casey Underwood went 1-5 and he scored a run. Player/manager Cory Wenz went 1-5 and he scored a run and Colton Fruth was hit by a pitch, one stolen base and he scored a run.  

For the Lakers Mitch Wieneke was their starting pitcher and their pitcher of record. Steve Krippner went 2-4 with a two run home run and Mitch Wieneke went 1-4 and he scored a run. Derrick Garding went 1-1 and he was hit by a pitch and Chad Kunkel went 1-3.

ST. JOSEPH JOES 8, CLEAR LAKE LAKERS 3 (5/28 @ St. Joseph)

The Joes defeated their Sauk Valley League rivals the Lakers in their first league game of the season. They got good pitching performances by a pair of right handers, Greg Anderson and Joey Stock. Greg, in his first outing this season, threw 7 innings, he scattered 4 hits, 2 walks, surrendered 3 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Joey Stock threw 2 innings in relief, he recorded 4 strikeouts. Alex Kendall went 1-4 with a 2 run home run and Ben Alvord went 1-4 with a big double for 3 RBI and he scored a run. Ethan Carlson had a good game, he went 3-5 with a double and he scored a pair of runs. Joey Stock went 1-4 with a RBI and he earned a walk and Eric Vigil went 1-2, he earned a pair of walks and he had a stolen base. Dustin Barge went 1-2 and he scored a pair of runs, Tanner Bloomer scored a run and R. J. Alvord scored a run. 

For the Lakers, lefty Mike Smith started on the mound for the second time in a week. He threw 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, one walk, 3 runs and he recorded 9 strikeouts. Brandon Buesgens threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 3 hits, 2 walks, 5 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Cory Schmidt went 1-3, with a walk, he hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Brandon Buesgens went 1-4 with a RBI, Mitch Voigt went 1-5 and Noah Vogt went 1-4. Tyler Maurer walked and he scored a run and Cole Gueningsman scored a run.  

FOLEY LUMBERJACKS 12, BECKER BANDITS 2 (7 In.) (5/28 @ Becker)

The Lumberjacks defeated their Sauk Valley League foe the Bandits backed by a 15 hit attack and good pitching performances. Hunter Hamers started on the mound for the Lumberjacks, he threw 5 innings to earne the win. He gave up just 2 hits and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Mike Plante threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, 2 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Cameron Jurek had a big game, he went 2-4 with a three run home run and a double for 3 RBI, he scored a pair of runs and he earned a walk. Tyler Long went 3-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Joe Siwicki went 2-3 with a double, he scored 3 runs, one stolen base and he was hit by a pitch. Noah Winkelman went 1-2 with a double and a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he earned a pair of walks and he scored a pair of runs. Kyle Kipka went 1-3 with a double, he earned a walk and he scored a run and Ean VonWald went 2-5. Joel Bollig went 2-4 and he scored a run, Sam Keeler went 2-4 and he walked and Tyler Midas scored a run.  

For the Bandits, no information given on their pitchers. Connor Rolf, Hayden Fassler and Ryan Sommerford all went 1-3 and Johnny Mann went 1-2 and he scored a run and Austin Rasmussen scored a run. 

SARTELL STONE PONEYS 7, CLEAR LAKE LAKERS 6 (11 In.) (5/24 @ Sartell)

The Stone Poneys defeated the Lakers in Sauk Valley League action in a slugfest in 11 innings. Nate Nierenhausen threw 6 2/3 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts.  Cody Rose threw 4 1/3 innings in relief, to earn the save, he gave up 4 hits and 2 runs. Brandon Reinking had a big game, he went 2-3 with 3 big RBI and he earned a pair of walks. Shawn Lindsay had a good game, he went 2-4 with 2 doubles for a RBI and he earned a walk. Player/manager Jeff Amann went 2-5 with a RBI and he  scored 3 runs. Teddy Fleming went 3-5 with a double, he earned walk and he scored a pair of runs. Matt Maurer went 1-4 with a walk, 2 stolen bases and he scored a run, Jim Gabrielson went 1-1 and Josh Schaefer scored a run. 

The Lakers Mike Smith started on the mound, he threw 7 innings, he gave up 10 hits, 6 runs, 3 walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Ryan Paasch threw 3 innings in relief, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 2 hits, one run, 2 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Mitch Voigt had a big game for the Lakers, he went 3-5 with  2 RBI and he scored a run. Cory Schmidt had a good game, he went 3-6 with a double for a RBI and Mike Smith went 2-4. Noah Voigt went 2-4 with a double, 2 walks and he scored a pair of runs and Richard Thompson went 1-6 with a RBI. Matt Korte went 2-5 with a double, one walk and he scored a pair of runs, Mike Golombiecki and Tyler Mauer both earned walks and Brandon Buesgens scored a run.

ELROSA SAINTS 3, ROSCOE RANGERS 2 (5/26 @ Elrosa)

The Saints got some good pitching performances from Austin Kuefler and Austin Hadley. Austin started and the threw 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 2 runs, one walk and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Austin Hadley threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up one hit and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Ethan Vogt led the Saints offense, he went 3-3 with 2 big RBI and he walked and had a stolen base. Matt Schmitz went 2-4 with a sacrifice bunt and a RBI and Cody Eichers went 2-5 with a double and he scored run. Kevin Kuefler went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Austin Hadley went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch and A. J. Hadley went 1-3 with a walk. Ryan Illies had a sacrifice bunt, Brady Weller walked and he scored a run and Brandon Roelike earned a walk. 

The Rangers Josh Mackedanz started on the mound, he threw 4 2/3 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 3 walks, 3 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Jordan Schleper threw 3 1/3 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, one walk and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Jordan Schleper had a good night, he went 3-5 with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Brandon Schleper went 2-4 with a stolen base and he scored a run. Jordan Roos went 1-5 with a RBI and Trent Gertken went 1-4 and he was hit by a pitch. Nathan Stang went 1-4 and he scored a run, Devon Savage went 1-4, Brent Heinen was hit by a pitch and Chris Vandebeek earned a walk. 

SPRING HILL CHARGERS 8 RICHMOND ROYALS 6(5/27 @ Richmond)

 The Chargers put up all their runs early in the game to take a big lead and the Royals came back to give all a few tense moments in the late innings. Austin Schoenberg started on the mound for the Chargers, he threw 6 innings to earn the win. He gave up 4 hits, 4 runs, 5 walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Brent Terres retired one batter and Eric Terres threw 2 1/3 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits and he issued one walk. Shawn Schoenberg earned the save, as he retired the last batter of the game. The Chargers were led by Jamie Terres, he went 3-4 with a pair of doubles for 2 RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 3 runs. Shawn Schoenberg went 2-4 with a RBI, he had a sacrifice fly, he was hit by a pitch and he had a stolen base. Nathan Terres went 1-4 with a pair of RBI and Eric Terres went 3-5 with a stolen base and he scored a run. Erik Schoenberg went 1-4 and Anthony Revermann went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run. Austin Schoenberg had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he scored a run, Brent Terres went 1-1 and Owen Meyer earned a walk. 

The Royal's D. J. Schleicher started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, he gave up 10 hits, 8 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Blaine Athman threw 5 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits and he issued a walk. Cole Schmitz went 3-4 with a pair of doubles, he walked and he scored a run. Scott Ruegemer went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run and Dan Hansen went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Dusty Adams went 2-4 with a walk and he scored a run and Kyle Budde went 1-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Adam Backes went 1-4, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run, Brent Ruegemer went 1-3 with a walk, Alex Budde earned a walk and Cory Niewind walked and he was hit by a pitch. 

NEW MUNICH SILVERSTREAKS 6, ROSCOE RANGERS 1 (5/27 @ Roscoe)

The Silverstreaks defeated their South Stearns County foe the Rangers, behind the pitching of veteran right hander, Jim Thull. He threw 8 innings to earn the win, he gave up just 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Nick Stangler threw the final inning in relief to close it out, he gave up 2 hits. Nick Stangler had a big game, he went 2-4 with a RBI, a stolen base and he scored a run. Jacob Hinnenkamp went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and Ty Reller went 1-3 with a double for a RBI, 2 stolen bases, sacrifice bunt and he scored a run. Jon Gaebel went 1-4 with a RBI and Joe Stangler went 1-2 with a RBI, 2 stolen bases, he was hit by a pitch, earned a walk and he scored 3 runs. Grant Johnson earned a pair of walks and he scored a run, Neal Anderson and Alex Hinnenkamp each earned a walk and Hunter Rademacher had a sacrifice bunt and a stolen base. 

The Rangers Jordon Roos started on the mound, he threw 7 innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 6 hits, 3 walks, 6 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Russ Leyendecker threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up a hit, issues a pair of walks and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Brent Burg led the Rangers offense, he went 1-4 with a double for a RBI and Nick Dingman went 2-4 and he scored a run. Brent Heinen went 1-3 and Jordan Schleper went 1-4. Jordan Roos had a sacrifice bunt and Devon Savage earned a walk. 

MEIRE GROVE GROVERS 9, ST. MARTIN MARTINS 8 (5/27 @ St. Martin)

The Grovers upset their south half Stearns County foe the Martins in a slug fest. The Grovers had four extra base hits in support of their pitchers. Matt Imdieke started on the mound for the Grovers, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He gave up 9 hits, 6 runs, 2 walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Colton Meyer threw 2/3 of an inning in relief, he gave up 1 hit, 2 runs, 3 walks and he recorded one strikeout. Jaron Klaphake threw the final 1 2/3 innings to earn the save, he gave up just one hit. Jordan Klaphake had a big game, he went 3-4 with a big 2 run home run and Drake Meyer had a good game, he went 2-5 with a double for a pair of RBI and he scored a run. Andrew Welle had a good game going 2-4 for a pair of RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Alex Welle went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a pair of runs and Anthony Welle went 1-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Tanner Klaphake went 1-6 with a double for a RBI, Colton Meyer went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run, Jaron Klaphake went 1-4, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Kurt Marthaler went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run. 

The Martin's Jaylen Arceneau started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 9 runs, 3 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Taylor Holthaus threw 5 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, 3 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Taylor Holthaus had a big game for the Martins, he went 3-5 with a home run and a double for 4 RBI. Kyle Lieser went 3-5 with a double, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 3 runs. Austin Arceneau went 1-3 with a double, a pair of walks and he scored a run. Jared Overman went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. Michael Schlangen went 1-3 with a RBI, he walked, he was hit twice by a pitch, one stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Scott Schlangen went 1-2 with a pair of walks, stolen base, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run, Tyler Ritter went 1-1 and Chas Hennen had a sacrifice bunt.  

GREENWALD CUBS 4, FARMING FLAMES 3 (10 Innings) (5/26 @ Farming)

The Cubs upset their Southern Stearns County foe the Flames behind the pitching of Tyler Braegelman, he started on the mound. He threw 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 4 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Player/manager Nick Rademacher threw 4 innings in relief to earn the win. He gave up 3 hits, 2 walks, one run and he recorded a strikeout. Tyler Braegelman went 2-3 with a double  for a pair of RBI and he earned a pair of walks. Marshall Worms went 2-5 and he scored a run and Nick Rademacher went 2-5. Tyler Engelmeyer went 1-3 and he earned a walk and Doug Imdieke earned a pair of walks and he scored a run. Adam VanBeck was credited for a RBI by way of a fielders choice, he earned a pair of walks and he scored 2 runs. 

The Flames Brad Mergen, took the pitching loss, he threw 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 7 walks, 4 runs and he recorded 14 strikeouts. Nate Zierden threw one inning of relief, he gave up a hit and he recorded a strikeout. Mitchell Thelen went 2-3 with a pair of walks, a pair of stolen bases and he scored one run. Brad Mergen went 2-4 and he earned a walk and Taylor Fourre went 1-4 with a stolen base and he scored a run. Nick Mergen went 1-4 with a walk, stolen base and he scored a run. Charles Wehseler went 1-5 with a RBI and both Joel and Craig Klein earned walks.  

ST. MARTIN MARTINS 7, GREENWALD CUBS 4 (5/27@ Greenwald)

The Martins defeated North Stearns County North foe the Cubs backed by the pitching performances by Austin Arceneau, Josh Stangler and Kyle Lieser. Austin started and he threw 5 innings, he scattered 7 hits, 2 walks and he gave up one run and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Josh Stangler threw 2/3 inning, he gave up 3 walks, 3 runs and he recorded one strikeout. Kyle Lieser threw 3 1/3 innings in relief to earn the win, he gave up 1 hit and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Tyler Holthaus went 2-4 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch, one stolen base and he scored a run. The Lakers defeated the Black Sox in a defensive struggle for both teams. They each put up a run in the first and the Lakers scored on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. Putter Harlander started on the mound for the Lakers, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He gave up 5 hits, one run, 3 walks and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Will Klienschmitt threw one inning of relief, he gave up a hit, one walk and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Will Kleinschmidt threw 3 innings, he gave up 2 hits, one walk, one run and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Cody Stich threw 2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, 2 runs and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Carter Holthaus threw the final inning in relief, he gave up 2 hits, 1 run and he recorded a strikeout. Reed Voit, Will Kleinschmidt and Jon Bauer all earned walks for the Lakers.  

COLD SPRING SPRINGERS 11, CLEAR LAKE LAKERS 0 (7 In.) 5/25 @ Cold Spring

The Springers defeated Sauk Valley league foe, behind the pitching of Ben Ethel. Ben is fresh off his season with the St. John Johnnies this spring, as their closer. He threw 6 innings, gave up just 3 hits, no walks and he recorded 13 strikeouts. Jack Arnold threw the final inning in relief, he issued one walk and he recorded one strikeout. Drew had a good game, he went 2-3 with 3 RBI, one stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. Zach Femrite went 1-2 with a double for a RBI, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Alex Jungels went 2-3 with 2 RBI and he scored 2 runs and Brian Hansen went 1-2 with a RBI, he walked, two stolen bases and he scored 2 runs. Jeron Terres went 2-2 with a double for a RBI and he earned a pair of walks. 

The Lakers' Tyler Maurer started on the mound, he threw 3 innings, he was the pitcher of record. Mitch Voigt threw 2 innings in relief and Cory Schmidt threw the final inning in relief, he gave up 1 hit and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Matt Korte went 1-3, as he led of the game with a single, Richard Thompson went 1-2 and Mike Golombiecki went 1-2 and Mitch Voigt earned a walk. 

COLD SPRING ROCKIES 6, ST. JOSEPH JOES 2(5/24@ St. Joseph)  

The Rockies of the Central Valley League defeated the Joes of the Sauk Valley league. Both teams were missing a number of ball players for various reasons. Jake Brinker started on the mound for the Rockies, he threw 4 innings to earn the win. He gave up 1 hit, 1 run, 2 walks and he record 6 strikeouts. Jordan Neu threw one inning in relief, he gave up one hit and he recorded one strikeout. David Jonas threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, one run, one walk and he recorded one strikeout. Austin Dufner went 2-3 with a double, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Nick Skluzacek went 1-4 with a RBI and Jordan Neu went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Kevin Wenner went 1-1 with a big lead off triple, he walked and he scored a pair of runs. David Jonas went 2-4 and he scored a run and Trevor Lardy went 1-2 with a pair of RBI. Patrick Hemingson went 1-3 and he scored a run, Mason Ruegemer earned a walk and he had one stolen base and Jake Brinker earned a walk.  

The Joes' starting pitcher Nathan Mohs, he threw 3 innings and he was the pitcher for record. He gave up 5 hits, 2 walks, 3 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Joe Stock threw 3 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hit, 2 walks, 1 run and he record 6 strikeouts. Ethan Carlson threw the final 2 innings in relief, he gave up 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk and he recorded a strikeout. Ben Alvord went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run and Joey Stock went 2-4 with a RBI. Justin Barg went 1-4 with a RBI and Ethan Carlson went 1-3 and he scored a run. Zach Overboe went 1-3, Charles Vaughan went 1-4, Hunter Blommer earned a walk and Nathan Mohs earned a walk. 

SILVER SPRINGERS 9, ST. NICHOLAS NICKS 0 (5/24 @ Cold Spring)

The Silver Springers defeated Central Valley foe the Nicks in their season opener. The defending 35-and-Over State Champions got some good pitching performances from four of their pitchers. Joe Koenkel started on the mound, he threw 2 innings to earn the win, he gave up 1 hit, and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Tim Martin threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hit and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Dave Hinkemeyer threw 2 innings, he issued 1 walks and he recorded 2 strikeout. Todd Steil closed it out, he recorded 1 strikeouts. Greg Terres went 3-5 with a double and he scored a run. Rod Schafer is back, he went 1-4 with a walk, one stolen base and he scored a run. Ron Terres went 2-3 with a double and he earned a walk and Troy Schroeder went 2-4 with 2 RBI. Andy Auger went 1-4 with  2 RBI and he scored a run and Derek Falde went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Greg Bemboom went 1-3 with RBI, he earned a walk, one stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Mike Arnold went 1-4 and Tim Martin went 1-4 and he scored a run. Brent Schloe went 1-2 with a sacrifice fly for 2 RBI, he walked and he score a run and Joe Koenkel was credited with a RBI.  

Veteran Kevin Drontle started on the mound for the Nicks, he threw 4 innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 7 hits, 1 walk and 7 runs. Jon Hofer threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 4 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs. Grant Mrozek threw 2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, one walk and he recorded a strikeout. Alex Foehrenbacker went 1-3 with a walk and Grant Mrozek went 1-4 for the Nicks. Travis Hanson went 1-3  and Derek Kuechle earned a walk. Tanner Anderson earned a walk and Dylan Rausch had a stolen base. 

FORT RIPLEY REBELS 4, SARTELL MUSKIES 1 (5/26 @ Sartell)

The Rebels of the Victory League defeated the Muskies of the Sauk Valley League, behind the outstanding pitching performance by Jack Hegarty. He threw 8 innings, he gave up just 4 hits, 1 run and he recorded 15 strikeouts. Brett Kramer threw the final inning in relief. The Rebels took of advantage of some walks issues by the Muskies pitching and 4 hits. Logan Kalis went 1-5 with a RBI, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. Jason Satter went 1-4 with a RBI and Brian Skluzacek went 1-2 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he earned a walk. Ethan Brandan went 1-3 and Jack Hegarty walked, was hit by a pitch, had a stolen base and he scored a run. Brett Kramer earned a pair of walks, scored a pair of runs and he had a stolen base. Mac Brink walked twice and he had a stolen base, Bill Satter and Nick Jelacie both earned walks. 

The Muskies' Adam Wenker started on the mound for the Muskies, for the first time this season. Adam threw 4 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Austin Gohl threw 4 innings in relief, he gave 1 run, 4 walks, no hits and he recorded 8 strikeouts. David Deminsky threw the final inning in relief, he recorded 3 strikeouts. The Muskies were led by Tim Burns, he went 2-4 with a double, Adam Schellinger went 1-2 and he scored a run and Luke Sweeter went 1-3. `

COON RAPIDS RED BIRDS 8, BEAUDREAU'S SAINTS 7 (5/26 @ Putz) 

ALBERTVILLE VILLIANS 10, PINE CITY PIRATES 0 (5/24 @ Pine City)

The Villians defeated the Pirates of the Eastern Minny East League 10, behind the pitching of Josh Schmidt, Keith Bistodeau, Brandon Berning and Steve VanVleet. They combined to pitch the shut out, allowing just 3 hits. The Villians collected 11 hits in the game, led by Brandon Berning, he went 2-2 with 3 walks and a stolen base. Keith Bistodeau and Steve VanVleet each had a pair of hits.
