Back for a fourth season at KNSI with your weekly amateur baseball (Town Team) baseball reports. Including not only game summaries, but upcoming schedules, league standings. Tournament summaries and an occasional special interest feature. The plan is to continue to include: Lakewood League, Central Valley League, Sauk Valley League, Victory League South and Stearns County teams throughout their league playoffs, regional and state tourney games. 

LAKEWOOD LEAGUE/REGION GAMES

COLD SPRING SPRINGERS 16, BRAINERD BEES 0  (7 In.) (5/31 @ Cold Spring)

The Springers' 14-hit attack, errorless defense and strong pitching help defeat the Bees in Lakewood League action. Ben Etzell started on the mound for the Springers, he threw 4 innings, he gave up one hit, 2 walks and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Jack Arnold threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up one hit, one walk and he recorded a strikeout. Justin Thompson closed out the 7th inning, he issued two walks. Jeron Terres led the Springers on offense, he went 4-5 with 2 doubles for 2 RBI and he scored 3 runs. Joe Dempsey had a good game, he went 3-5 with 5 big RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Eric Loxtercamp went 2-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he walked and he scored 3 runs. Jack Arnold went 2-3 and he scored a run and Zach Femrite went 1-2 with a double for a RBI. Drew VanLoy went 1-1 with 2 RBI and he scored a run and Justin Thompson went 1-3 with 2 RBI and he was hit by a pitch. Brian Hansen earned 3 walks for 2 RBI and he scored a run and Brad Olson went 1-1 with a walk and he scored a run. Alex Jungels was credited a with a pair of RBI by way of fielder choices, Ryan Holthaus earned a walk and he scored a run and Nate Hinkemeyer walked and he scored a run. 

The Bees starting pitcher, Hanson Devine, was the pitcher of record, he threw 2 2/3 innings. Blake Peterson threw 3 1/3 innings in relief and player/manager Tim Martin threw one inning of relief. Kevin Peterson and Hanson Devine both went 1-2 and they both earned a walk. Eric Martin, Renzen Caughey and Blake Peterson all earned walks. 

CENTRAL VALLEY LEAGUE

COLD SPRING ROCKIES 24, EDEN VALLEY HAWKS 12 (5/29 @ Eden Valley)

The Rockies had a 33-hit explosion including 8 extra base hits to back their starting pitcher Jake Brinker. Lefty Brinker threw 5 innings to earn the win and David Holbrook closed it out with 4 innings of relief. The Rockies had eight players with multi-hit games, one of the leaders was David Jonas. He went 6-7 with a home run and a double for 3 RBI and he scored 4 runs. Calvin Kalthoff had a big game, he went 4-6 with a home run and a double for 3 RBI, he walked and he scored 3 runs. Jake Hennen went 4-6 with a double for 3 RBI and Jordan Neu went 3-6 with 2 doubles for 3 RBI a walk and he scored 5 runs. Nick Skluzacek went 5-7 with 3 RBI, one walk, one stolen base and he scored 4 runs. Blake Holbrook went 4-6 with  3 RBI, one walk and he scored a run and Kevin (Rookie) Wenner went 2-8 with a triple for 2 RBI, one stolen base and he scored a run. Marshal Wirtzfeld went 2-7 with a double for 2 RBI, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Cole Field went 1-6 with a RBI, one walk and he scored 3 runs and Austin Dufner went 1-1 with a pinch hit single.  

The Hawks' Austin Schlangen was the pitcher of record. Alex Geislinger had a good game, he went 4-5 with 2 RBI, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Zach Schlangen went 2-4 with a double for 2 RBI, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Tanner Olean went 1-4 with a walk and he scored 3 runs and Matthew Pennertz went 1-3. Austin Berg earned 3 walks and a RBI and Matt Lies walked twice and he scored a run. Travis Thielen walked 3 times and he was hit by a pitch and Matt Unterberger earned a pair of walks. 

ST. AUGUSTA GUSSIES 8, PEARL LAKE LAKERS 4 (6/3 @ St. Augutsa) 

The Gussies defeated the Central Valley foes Pearl Lake backed by a 13 hit attack, including 7 extra base hits. Travis Laudenbach started on the mound for the Gussies, he threw 6 innings to earn the win. He gave up 7 hits, 4 walks, 3 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Luke Richardson threw 3 innings of relief to earn the save, he gave up 3 hits, 2 walks, one run and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Brady Grafft had a big day at the plate, he went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double for 2 RBI and he scored 3 runs. Adam Gwost went 1-4 with a home run and Mitch Gwost went 2-3 with a RBI, one walk and 2 stolen bases. Marcus Lommel went 2-4 with a double, a walk and he scored a run and Dustin Schultzenburg went 1-5 with a double for a RBI. Zach Laudenbach went 1-1 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Luke Richardson went 1-2 with a double for a RBI. Matt Skaja went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run and Aaron Fruth went 1-5 and he scored a run. 

The Lakers Alex Miller started on the mound, he was the pitcher of record. He threw 5 1/3 innings, he gave up 7 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Mitch Wienke threw 2 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 6 hits, 1 one walk, 4 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Mitch Wieneke went 2-5 with 2 doubles for a RBI and he scored 2 runs.  Preston Peglow went 2-4 with a walk. Justin Kunkel went 1-4 with a double for a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Tommy Linn went 1-3 with a pair of walks and he scored a run and Alex Miller went 1-2 with a double and a sacrifice bunt. Andy Linn went 1-4 with a RBI and Craig Pfunnenstein went 1-3 with a RBI and he was hit by a pitch. Mitch Kunkel went 1-1 and Cole Denn and Steve Krippner both earned walks. 

KIMBALL EXPRESS 11, PEARL LAKE LAKERS 8 (6/4 @ Kimball)  

The Express remained unbeaten in Central Valley League play with a win over their neighbors, the Lakers. The Express collected 11 hits, including 5 extra base hits to support their pitchers. Zach Dingmann started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 3 walks, 7 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Matt Dingmann threw 3 innings in relief, to earn the win, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 1 strikeout. Zach Sufka had a great game, he went 3-4 with a home run and a double for 2 RBI and he earned a walk. Austin Ruehle had a great game, from his lead off position, he went 4-5 with a triple and a double for 1 RBI, he had a stolen base and he scored a 4 runs. Brooks Marquardt went 1-4 with a RBI, he earned a walk and he score a run and Matt Dingmann went 1-2 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Kyle Winter went 2-5 and Troy Filzen went 2-5 with a walk. Adam Beyer was credited with 2 RBI, he also had a sacrifice fly and Scott Marquardt earned a walk and was credited with a RBI. Ben Johnson  earned a pair of walks and he scored a run, Brian Marquardt earned a walk, Zach Dingmann and Ben Theisen both scored runs.

The Lakers, Tommy Linn started on the mound, he threw 3 2/3 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 4 walks, 7 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Justin Kunkel, threw 3 1/3 innings in relief, he gave up 5 its, 2 walks, 4 runs and he recorded a strikeout, he was the pitcher of record. Alex Miller threw 1 inning in relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he recorded a strikeout. Ryan Wieneke had a big game, he went 2-4 with a 3 run home run and he earned a walk. Justin Kunkel went 1-3 with a home run, he was hit by a pitch and he earned a walk. Tommy Linn went 3-4 with a RBI, he walked and scored 3 runs and Andy Linn went 1-5 with a RBI. Derek Garding went 1-5 and he scored a run, Alex Miller went 1-3, Preston Peglow and Chad Kunkel both scored a run.  

ST. AUGUSTA GUSSIES 20, ST. NICHOLAS NICKS 3 (7 Innings) (6/4 @ St. Augusta)

The Gussies defeated their Central Valley League foes, the Nicks, backed by a 21 hit attack, including 8 extra base hits. Aaron Fruth started on the mound for the Gussies, he threw 3 1/3 innings to earn the win. He gave up 1 hit, 3 walks, 3 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Dustin Schultzenburg threw 2 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hit and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Zach Laudenbach closed it out, he threw one inning of relief, he recorded 3 strikeouts. The two veterans led the way, Adam Gwost went 3-4 with a double and a sacrifice fly for 4 big RBI and he scored 3 runs. Brady Grafft went 3-4 with a home run for 4 big RBI, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Marcus Lommel went 3-4 with a home run and a sacrifice fly for 2 RBI, he walked and he scored 4 runs. Nate Laudenbach went 1-3 with a RBI, 2 walks and he scored 3 runs, Aaron Fruth went 1-2 with a RBI and he scored a run and Luke Richardson went 1-1 with a double and he scored a run. 

The Nick's, Jon Hofer started on the mound, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 7 hits, 1 walk and 8 runs. Matt Schindler threw 1 inning in relief, he gave up 3 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Kevin Drontle threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 11 hits, 2 walks and 9 runs. Player/Manager, Robert Lutgen went 1-3 with a RBI and Andy Bautch was credited with a RBI. Grant Mrozek went 1-2 with a walk, Sam Moriarty walked and he scored a run, Jon Hofer and Matt Schindler both scored runs and Brett Hofer was hit by a pitch and he earned a walk.

SARTELL MUSKIES 11, SARTELL STONE PONEYS 2 (5/31 @ Sartell)

The Muskies defeated their cross town rival in a Sauk Valley League match up. Their 11 hit attack, errorless defense and four pitchers shut down the Stone Poneys offense. Lefty David Deminsky started on the mound, he threw 6 innings to earn the win. He gave up 4 hits, no walks and he recorded 10 strikeouts. Shawn Schoen a 42 year old right hander, issued a pair of walks. Cody Partch threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hit, 2 walks and one run and Grant Mackenthun threw the final inning in relief, he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Tim Burns had a big game, he went 3-4 with a home run and double for 2 RBI, one stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. Adam Schellinger had a big game, he went 3-4 with 2 doubles for 4 big RBI and he scored a run. Jace Otto went 1-5 with a double for 2 RBI and he scored a run and Cody Partch went 1-4 with 2 walks, sacrifice bunt and he scored a pair of runs. Jake Sweeter went 1-3 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch, one walk and he scored 1 run and Luke Sweeter went 1-2 with 3 walks and he scored 2 runs. Austin Gohl went 1-1 with a walk, Brian Schellinger earned a walk and he scored a run and Jonah Nebosis scored a run. 

The Stone Poneys starting pitcher, Nate Nierenhausen was their pitcher of record. He threw 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 7 runs and 6 walks. Andrew Kinney threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, 2 walks, 4 runs and he recorded one strikeout. Shawn Lindsay went 3-4 with a double and player/manager Jeff Amann went 1-4, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Jim Garbrielson went 1-1 and he earned 3 walks and Teddy Flemming went 1-5. The Lumberjacks defeated their Central Valley League rivals in 10 innings, Hunter Hammers started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, 6 walks, 4 runs and he recorded strikeouts. Cameron Jurek, threw 5 innings in relief to earn the win. Cameron Jurek went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Tyler Long went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he earned a walk. Joe Swicki went 2-6 with 3 RBI and Kyle Kipka went 2-5 and he scored 2 runs. Sam Keeler went 1-5 with a triple for a RBI and he scored a run and Mitch Keeler went 1-3 with a pair of walks and he scored a run. Joel Bollig went 2-5 and he scored 2 runs, Hunter Hammers had a sacrifice bunt, earned a walk, one stolen base and he scored a run, Nick Corrine was credited with a RBI and Mike Plante earned a walk. 

The Lakers, Mike Smith started on the mound, he threw 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, 2 walks, 5 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Ryan Paasch, threw 1 1/3 innings in relief, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 2 hits, 4 walks, 2 runs and he recorded one strikeout. Mitch Voight went 2-5 with a double for 2 RBI and Richard Thompson went 1-5 with a RBI. Matt Korte went 1-3 with 3 walks, one stolen base and he scored 2 runs and Cole Gueningsman went 1-4 with 2 sacrifice bunts, one stolen base and he scored a run. ST. JOSEPH JOES 16, SARTELL STONE PONEYS 6 (7 Innings) (6/3 @ St. Joseph)  

The Joes defeated their Sauk Valley rivals the Stone Poneys, backed by a 15 hit attack and a good pitching performance. Jack Atkinson started on the mound for the Joes, he threw 6 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, 3 walks, 3 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Joey Stock threw one inning of relief, one hit, he issued 2 walks, surrendered 2 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. The Joes were led by Ben Alvord, he went 3-5 with 2 doubles for 4 RBI, one walk and he scored 2 runs. Ethan Carlson went 3-4 with a double for 2 RBI, 2 walks and he scored 3 runs. Hunter Blommer went 2-5 with a double for a RBI and he earned a walk. Caz Novak went 2-5 with a stolen base and he scored 3 runs and Alex Kendall went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly for 2 RBI and he earned a walk and Joey Stock went 1-2 with a sacrifice bunt, for a RBI, he was hit twice by a pitch, he earned a walk and he scored 3 runs. Brandon Bloch went 1-4 and Zach Overboe went 1-4 with a walk and he scored 2 runs. Justin Barg went 1-1 with a home run, Eric Vigil earned 3 walks and he was credited with a RBI and Charles Vaughan earned a walk and he scored a run. 

The Poneys' Cody Rose started on the mound, he threw 1 2/3 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 3 walks, 6 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Matt Maurer, threw 4 innings in relief, he gave up 5 hits, 5 walks, 4 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Sean Tillman retired one batter, he gave up one hit. Sean Tillman went 1-3 with a 2 run home run, he earned a walk and he scored 2 runs. Shawn Lindsay went 1-4 with a 2 run home run and Josh Schaefer went 2-4 with a RBI. ST. JOSEPH JOES 13, ALBERTVILLE VILLAINS 3 (7 Innings) 6/4 @ Albertville) 

The Joes won their second Sauk Valley league game of the weekend, as they defeated the Villains in 7 innings. Greg Anderson started on the mound, he threw 6 innings to earn the win, he gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, issued no walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Nate Chandler threw the final inning, he gave up 2 hits and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Ben Alvord went 2-3 with a double for 3 big RBI  and he scored 2 runs, and Alex Kendall went 3-4 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Joey Stock went 2-2 with a triple for a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 2 runs. Ethan Carlson went 1-4 with a double for 2 RBI and he scored a run and Justin Barg went 1-2 with a double and he scored a run. Hunter Blommer went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Caz Novak went 1-3 with a RBI and he scored 2 runs. The Villains, Bailey Solberg started on the mound, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 5 hits, 1 walk, 3 runs and he recorded a strikeout.  Keith Bistodeau gave up 3 hits, 7 runs and he walked 3. Henry Berning, threw 5 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, 3 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Will Berning went 2-3 with a RBI and he scored a run and Austin Wick went 1-3, he was hit by a pitch and he had a stolen base. Dylan Fox went 1-4 and he scored a run, Keith Bistodeau went 1-3, Henry Berning went 1-3 and Mike Krempa was hit by a pitch.  

ALBERTVILLE VILLAINS 8, SARTELL STONE PONEYS 2 (6/4 @ Albertville)

The Villains defeated their Sauk Valley foe the Stone Poneys.  Steve VanVleet threw a complete game. Mike Krempa went 3-5 with a double and he scored a run and Keith Bistodeau went 1-4 with a double, he scored 2 runs and he walked. Mike Wallace went 1-4 with a double, scored 3 runs and he walked and Brandon Berning went 1-4 with a double, he walked and he scored a run. Player/manager Jason Sololowski went 2-3 and Bailey Solberg went 1-3 with 2 walks. Steve VanVleet went 1-4 with a walk and Todd Klaers went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch. 

The Poneys, Jeff Amann started on the mound, he threw 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 8 runs, 5 walks and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Teddy Flemming went 3-4 with 2 doubles and he scored a run. Sean Tillman went 1-4 with a RBI and Jeff Amann went 1-5 and he scored a run. Brandon Reinking went 1-4, Cooper Lynch went 1-4, Rob Gabrielson earned a walk and he was hit by a pitch, Patrick Dolan earned a walk and Shawn Lindsey was hit by a pitch.

ROSCOE RANGERS 2, FARMING FLAMES 1 (13 Innings) (6/2 @ Farming)

The Rangers defeated their Stearns County South rivals the Flames for their first win of the season. Jordan Roos started on the mound for the Rangers, Jordan Schleper threw in relief and Josh Mackedanz closed it out to earn the save. Jordan Schleper had a big game, he went 3-6 with a double and he scored a run. Nic Dingmann went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and a stolen base. Brandon Schleper went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Trent Gertken went 1-5 and he earned a walk and Nic Stang went 1-5. Brent Heinen went 1-6 and Russ Leyendecker had a sacrifice fly. 

The Flames' Brad Mergen started on the mound, he threw 9 innings, he scattered 4 hits, surrendered one run and he recorded 12 strikeouts. Kyle Zierden threw 4 innings in relief, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 4 hits, one run, issued 2 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. The Klein's had a good day for the Flames, Craig Klein went 2-4 with a RBI, one stolen and he was hit by a pitch and Joel Klein went 3-4 with a pair of walks. Brad Mergen went 2-5 and Nick Mergen went 1-3 with a pair of walks and he was hit by a pitch. Aaron Eiynck went 1-2 with a walk and Taylor Fourre had a sacrifice bunt and he earned a a walk. Cody Fourre earned a walk and he was hit by a pitch, Max Carlson had a sacrifice fly and Kyle Zierden scored a run. The Flames left 15 baserunners stranded in the game. 

NEW MUNICH SILVERSTREAKS 4, SPRING HILL CHARGERS 3 (12 In.) (6/4 @ Spring Hill)

The Silverstreaks defeated the Stearns County North rivals the Chargers, backed by the pitching performance by veteran Jim Thull. Jim threw 11 innings and Ty Reller threw the final inning in relief to earn the save. Joe Stangler went 2-4 with a double and a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Nick Stangler went 2-3 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he earned a walk. Grant Johnson went 1-4, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Will Funk went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly. Ty Reller went 2-5 and he earned a walk and Jon Gaebel went 1-5. Neal Anderson was hit by a pitch, Jacob Hinnenkamp scored a run and Hunter Rademacher went 1-5 with a double for a RB, he walked and he scored a run. 

The Chargers, Austin Schoenberg started on the mound, he threw 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 3 walks, 2 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Jordan Welle threw 2 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits and 3 walks. Shawn Schoenberg went 2-5 with a triple for 2 RBI and Jamie Terres went 2-3 with a walk and a stolen base. Eric Terres went 2-6 and Nate Terres went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly and a walk. Erik Schoenberg went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly and Anthony Reverman went 1-5 with a RBI. The St. Wendel Saints defeated the Victory League South rivals the Avon Lakers. The Saints Taylor Erickson started on the mound, he threw 9 innings to earn the win. He gave up just 3 hits,  1 walk and he recorded 11 strikeouts. Jake Braegelmann had a good game, he went 2-3 with a double for a RBI, he earned 2 walks and he scored 2 runs. Kyle Jarnot went 1-4 with a double for a RBI and Keaton Gustin went 1-2 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he earned a walk. Max Posch went 2-4 , John Pogatchnik went 1-4 and he scored a run, Sam Butler had a sacrifice bunt and Trevor VanHeel earned a walk.

The Clippers of the Central Valley League defeated their foe from the Victory League South the Steves. The Steves took a 2-0 lead early on a Blake Guggenberger home run in the third inning. That stood till the 6th inning, when the Clippers put up one run. It was 2-1 going into the top of the 7th. The Clippers put up 4 runs. Veteran Lefty Dan Berg started on the mound, he threw a complete game to earn the win. He scattered 7 hits, issued 3 walks, surrendered 2 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Dan Sargent had a good game, he went 2-4 with a double for 2 RBI and he scored 2 runs. Tyler Hebrink had a good game, he wen 2-3 with a RBI and Dan Beg helped his own cause, he went 1-4 with a RBI. Kevin Kramer had a stolen base and he scored a run, Adam Hiltner scored a run and Travis Linn and Lincoln Haugen both earned walks.

The Steves' Tony Schmitz started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 2 hits, one walk and he recorded 3 strikeouts. The Blue Devils of the Eastern Minny East defeated the Blue Ox of the Northwest Border League backed by a complete game pitching performance. Veteran Asa Patterson threw 7 innings, he scattered 9 hits, issued one walk, surrendered 4 runs and he recorded a pair of strikeouts. The Blue Devils had seven ball players collect hits, led by Mike Schnabel, he went 2-2 with a RBI and he earned walk. Kendall Bowe went 1-3 with 2 RBI and he scored a run and Derek Graves went 1-1 with a walk, stolen base, sacrifice bunt and he scored a pair of runs. Dylan Graves had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Hunter Foss went 1-4. Jordan Woolhouse went 1-3, Asa Patterson went 1-3, Sean Graff went 1-3 and he scored a pair of runs and Logan Graves earned a walk and he scored a run.

The Muskies played a very good defensive game and got some timely hits and very good pitching, to beat the Central Valley League foe the Brewers. Max Koprek started on the mound for the Muskies, he threw 5 innings to earn the win. He scattered 4 hits, 2 walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Grant Mackenthun threw 2 innings in relief to earn the save, he gave up one hit and he issued one walk. Jake Sweeter had a big base hit late in the game to drive in the two Muskie runs. Adam Schellinger went 1-3, Brian Schellinger earned a walk and he scored a run and Jace Otto went 1-3 and he scored. 

The Brewers lefty hander, Austin Klaverkamp threw 7 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, issued one walk, surrendered two runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Matt started on the mound, he threw 5 innings to earn the win, he gave up 5 hits, one walk and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Brett Becklin threw 2 innings in relief, he recorded 2 strikeouts. Joe Tucholsky went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Mitch Benson went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Brendan Ashton had a good game, went 2-4 with a homer for four big RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Lincoln Haugen had a good game, he went 3-4 with a home run and he scored a pair of runs. Jordan Neu went 2-3 and he scored a run and Nick Skluzacek went 2-3, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. COLD SPRING SILVER SPRINGERS 7, FARMING FLAMES 5 (6/4 @ Cold Spring) 

The Silver Springers defeated the Flames of the Stearns County League, backed by a committee of pitchers. Andy Auger started and he threw 3 innings and Tim Martin threw 3 innings in relief to earn the win. Todd Steil threw 2 innings of relief and Dave Hinkemeyer threw one inning of relief to earn the save. Rod Schafer went 3-5 with 2 RBI and he scored a run and Tim Martin went 2-3 with 2 RBI and he earned a walk. Todd Steil went 3-4 and he scored a run and Ron Terres went 1-2 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Troy Schroeder went 1-4, Greg Terres earned a pair of walks, one stolen base and he scored a run and Greg Bemboom went 1-5 and he scored a run. The Flames' starting pitcher, Chad Mergen threw 3 innings, he was the pitcher of record and Father Aaron Nett threw 4 innings in relief. Zach Koltes went 3-3 with a RBI, one walk, one stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Aaron Nett went 2-2 with 3 RBI and he earned a walk. MONTICELLO POLECATS 8, ALBERTVILLE VILLAINS 3 (5/13 @ Monticello)

The Polecats, a class B team from the Central Ridge League, defeated the Villains, backed by 11 hits and good pitching performances from four Polecats. Michael Revering started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 2 hits, 4 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Joe Tupy threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Jakob Kounkel threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, one walk and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Joe Kounkel couldn't be out done by his son, he threw the final inning in relief to close it out, he gave up 2 hits, one walk, one run and he recorded one strikeout. Aaron Hanson went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Michael Revering went 2-3 with a double for a RBI. Brayden Hanson went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run, Michael Olson went 1-3 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Keenan Macek went 1-3 with a RBI and he scored run.

The Villains' starting pitcher, Todd Klaers, threw 4 innings of relief, he was their pitcher of record. He gave up 7 hits, 7 runs and one walk. Josh Schmidt threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, one walk and he recorded a strikeout. Keith Bistodeau threw the final two innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, one run, one walk and he recorded a strikeout. HAMEL HAWKS 14, ALBERTVILLE VILLAINS 3 (7 In) 5/30 @ Albertville)

The Villains were defeated by a Class B foe from the Metro Minny League the Hawks. The Villains starting pitcher, Mike Wallace threw 4 innings, he was the pitcher of record and Steve VanVleet threw 2 innings in relief. Josh Schmidt led the Villains, he went 2-3 with 2 RBI along with Dylan Fox, had a good night at the plate, he went 2-3 with a stolen base and he scored a run. Mike Kermba went 1-3 with a RBI, Keith Bistodeau went 1-3, Todd Klaers earned a walk and he scored a pair of runs, Trevor Walton has a stolen base and Brandon Berning earned a walk. 

The Hawks' Clayton Bodine started on the mound, he threw 2 innings, Dominic Flemming threw 3 innings to earn the win and Grant Norhof threw two innings in relief. The offensive leaders for the Hawks, Parker Hlavacek went 2-4 with a home run and a double for 4 RBI. Jake Marsh went 2-4 with 2 doubles for 3 RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Collin Coats went 2-4 with a double for 2 RBI, Clayton Bodine went 2-4 with a walk, one stolen base and he scored a run and Joey Johnson went 1-4 with a double for 2 RBI and he scored a run.
