The MBA Board would like to remind the State Tournament-qualifying teams that they are allowed to play each other in a non-league game or exhibition match prior to the tourney.
The bottom of page 25 of the 2012 MBA Handbook states that teams that have qualified for the State Tournament and their drafted players are allowed to play non-league games or exhibition matches prior to the tourney. This is noted because of the fact that Region Champs now have nearly two weeks without a scheduled game.
Please refer to page 18 on the definition of a scrimmage and the bottom of page 17 for the definition of a non-league game. 2011 Handbook
The Board does request, though, that if State-qualifying teams choose to play prior to the tourney that they do so during the week (Monday-Thursday) to avoid overlap with the first weekend of play.
Also, please notify CJ Siewert (siewertc@csp.edu) if a scrimmage or non-league game is scheduled so that it can be noted here.
