Meeting call to order by President Richter at 11:00 AM

Motion Brennan, second Lemke, carried to approve the minutes of the previous meeting
Discussed with Green Isle, Hamburg and Norwood chair persons the overall condition of each site and their respective facilities in preparation for the upcoming 2017 MBA State Tournament. It was determined that Norwood has some major field components that need immediate attention in order to be ready for the tournament. The Norwood contingent indicated that they would address these issues and focus their resources on getting all work done within the next 3-4 weeks.
Met with John Breunig, Ron Beckman, Jake Lucas and Scott Hollingsworth of the Jordan Baseball Association to discuss the recent signing of two players that live outside the City of Jordan. After a lengthy discussion, Motion Kreger, second Barry carried 7-2 (Roufs and Forsman voting no) to allow Greg Quist to remain on roster, but also to put the Jordan team on probation now going forward the one year.
Kyle Norman, Manager of the Princeton Panthers appeared before the Board to appeal the Eastern Minnesota League’s decision in making John Patnode an illegal player and suspending their team for post season play. This was due to Patnode not getting a release from Rockford who no longer has a team in the MBA prior to signing a contract. Motion Nagel, second Barry carried 8-1 (Brennan voting no) to allow Princeton and Patnode to continue play in the MBA for 2017 and overturned the league vote.
Motion Roufs, second Lemke, carried to approve the following players to play in collegiate wood bat leagues and return to play with their respective teams for post season play: Zach Odden, Anoka Bucs to play in the Texas Showcase College League Jamie Kaye, Burnsville to play for Duluth Jake Kari, Forest Lake to play for Thunder Bay Dylan Dresel, Forest Lake to play for the Mankato Moondogs Kyle Boser, Sauk Rapids Cyclones to play for St. Cloud Rox Brad Mathiowetz, Rochester Royals to play for St. Cloud Rox Toby Hanson, Delano to play for the Mankato Moondogs Noah Luektke, Dundas to play for Bismark of the Northwoods League Colin Baumgard, St. Paul Stockmen’s to play for Duluth Trevor Jaunich, Delano to play with the United Shore League in Michigan Logan Busch, St. Paul Capitals to play with Mankato Moon Dogs Riley Smith, St. Paul Capitals to play with Green Bay Bull Frogs Danny Kapala, St. Paul Capitals to play with Waterloo Bucks Luke Barry, St. Paul Capitals to play with Sioux Fallsl Gold Pioneer League Matt Elsenpeter, Winsted to play for the Madison Mallards
Motion Kreger, second Nagel carried to allow the following teams to play non MBA teams: Anoka Bucs to play River Falls, Pine City Pirates Rochester Royals to play River Falls, Ellsworth, and Chaseburg Moorhead Brewers to play Team Manitoba and West Fargo Partriots Crookston to play Mayville, ND and Kindred ND
Motion Kreger, second Barry, carried to allow Sacred Heart to play an alumni game and allow rostered players to play
It is duly noted that Dylan Deavy, Moorhead Brewers, would like out of state, as well as, to play with Cass County in North Dakota and Moorhead.
It is duly noted that Wayne Erickson, Hastings requests that the MBA adopt policy regarding alcohol or Beer on the field or in dugouts during games sponsored by MBA.
Class C and B State Tournament Schedules were discussed and reviewed. The details will be posted on or before July 24th pending final review.
With no further business, motion Lemke, seconded Nagel, carried to adjourn the meeting at 1:33 pm
Next scheduled MBA Board meeting will be Thursday, August 17th at 7:00 at the Green Isle City Council Building at which time the Board will meet with Co-host chairpersons to go over final details.
