Saturday, May 13, 2017

Meeting called to order by President Richter at 11:00 AM 

There were 10 Baseball enthusiasts in attendance 

Roll call showed that all Board members were present 

Motion Brennan, second Kreger, carried to approve the minutes of the previous meeting 

Green Isle/Hamburg/Norwood representatives gave an update on 2017 State Tournament projects to be completed. 

Old Republic Surety Bond approved to pay 

Motion Roufs, second Forsman, carried to allow the following players to play for collegiate wood bat leagues and return to play with MBA team:

-Donald Strand, Lamberton, to play for Sioux Falls Saints

-Austin Isaacson, St. Patrick, to play with Duluth Huskies

-Patrick Riewer, Bertha, to play for the Menomonie Eagles

-Gabe Knowles, Hanska, to play for Duluth Huskies

-Nate DeChaine, Nisswa, to play for the the Ozark Generals

-Michael Michalak, Rochester Royals, to play with the Rochester Honkers

-Chris Choles, Chanhassen, to play in the Northwoods League

-Luke Roskam, Chanhassen, to play in the Northwoods League

-Nick Smith, Chanhassen, to play in the Carolina League

-Jack Mattson, Chanhassen, to play in the Florida League

-Jacob Rhinesmith, Shakopee Indians, to play in Virginia

-Jordan Hart, Austin Greyhounds to play with Rochester Honkers

-Derek Dahlke, Belle Plaine, to play with the Sioux Falls Gold

-Ryan Hennen, Cold Spring Rockies to play in the Northwood’s League

-Cole Christenson, Raymond to play in the Northwood’s League 

Motion Barry, second Lemke, carried to approve the following teams to play Non-MBA teams:

-St. Paul Mudhens to play Spring Valley, WI 5/28 and New Richmond, WI 7/26

-Milroy Irish to play the Brookings Cubs of SD

-Luverne to play Renner, SD on 6/8

-Owatonna to play one of the out of state teams playing in the SPAM town tournament on 6/25 

Motion Kreger, second Nagel, carried to allow Chanhassen to play a local Latino team this summer 

Motion Nagel, second Lemke, carried to approve the following tournament sanctions:

-Atwater tournament 6/16-6/17

-Minnesota tournament 6/17

-Moorhead Brewers tournament 5/18-5/19, and to allow teams to play Jamestown, ND in the tournament

-Rum River Bandits tournament 6/23-6/25

-Cleveland tournament 6/17

-Hinckley tournament 6/23-6/25

-Montevideo tournament 6/16-6/17

-Austin SPAM town Challenge 6/22-6/25, and to allow teams to play Westmont IL, Kewaskum, WI and Joliet IL 

Motion Barry, second Richter, vote 6-2 with Forsman abstaining, to deny Jeffrey Janckila’s, Dassel/Cokato request to use the Hometown Rule to play with Dassel/Cokato. 

Motion Roufs, second Forsman, carried to allow Tayler Carlson to play with Tracy via Hometown Rule 

Motion Nagel, second Kreger, carried to deny Taylor Branstad’s request to play with Shakopee Indians via Hometown rule 

Motion Roufs, second Lemke, carried to allow Ryan Fransen to play with Sacred Heart using the Hometown Rule. 

Motion Barry, second Nagel, carried to approve the Shakopee Coyotes request to play their annual alumni game on June 17 

Logan Forseth request to play with Crookston Reds approved 

Adam Burgess request to play with Crookston Reds approved 

Motion Barry, second Roufs, carried to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire for Mike Kvasnicka to play with Miesville 

Motion Lemke, second Barry, carried to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire for Pat Kelly to play with Miesville 

The Board discussed DaVinci Software’s two Year proposal and decided to continue under our current plan for the next six months and then at that time formalize our agreement for either a two-Year agreement starting in October 2017 or have a one year agreement until April 2018 and a two-year agreement thereafter. 

Team Max Bat, based out of Wisconsin and Coached by Pat Hallahan, is organizing a team and wishes to play MBA teams and Wisconsin teams this summer.  The Board reviewed the details and requested that they send a copy of their schedule and roster for MBA Review.  It is still requested that any MBA team wishing to play this team to notify a Board member prior to playing any games.

Motion Nagel, second Roufs, carried to approve the 2017 Class B & C tournament schedule for Green Isle, Hamburg and Norwood.  Green Isle will host the Class C Championship game and Hamburg will host the Class B Championship game.
