Rylan Robinson and Ben Thoma combined to limit St. Stephen to just 1 hit as the Buckman Billygoats coasted to an 11-1 win in 8 innings.
After a scoreless first 2 1/2 innings, the Billygoats struck for 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. It started with singles from Braxton Tautges and Matt Tautges to put runners on the corners with no outs. After Matt Tautges swiped 2nd, Lane Girtz was walked by Steves starter Landon Lunser to load the bases. Ben Thoma then lined a 2-run double to left to put Buckman up 2-0. After a pop up to shortstop and a line drive out to 1st, Jack Suska walked to reload the bases. Peter Herman then singled past 2nd to drive in both Girtz and Thoma to give the Billygoats a 4-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 4th with Braxton Tautges, Matt Tautges and Lane Girtz on base, Ben Thoma singled to left to drive in another 2 runs to make it 6-0. With 1 out, Andrew Rueckert doubled to score both Girtz and Thoma to put Buckman on top 8-0. Jack Suska then delivered an rbi single to bring home Rueckert to make it 9-0.
The Steves got their 2nd hit, and only run, of the game in the top of the 7th when Jake Schelonka belted a 1-out solo Homer to make it 9-1.
In the bottom of the 8th, Jack Suska led off with a single, followed by a hit from pinch-hitter Ben Mott. Buckman then sent up another pinch-hitter in Kyle Winscher and he also singled to load the bases. Lukas Otte drove in Jack Suska with a ground out to make it 10-1, then a game-ending rbi single from Matt Tautges brought in Ben Mott to make it 11-1 as the Goats won by way of 10-run rule in 8 innings.
