Meeting called to order by President Richter at 11:00 AM
There were 15 Baseball enthusiasts in attendance
Roll call showed that all Board members were present except Mark Forsman
Motion Brennan, second Lemke, carried to approve the minutes of the previous meeting
Mike Sticha New Prague and Steve O’Neill Shakopee gave an overview of each of their respective locations at to what projects remain outstanding and gave update on 2018 State Tournament
Motion Brennan, second Kreger, carried to approve payment of $100 to Old Republic Surety Bond
Motion Roufs, second Nagel, carried to approve the Willmar Rails request for reinstatement with a one year probation
Motion Hartmann, second Roufs, carried to suspend the current Detroit Lakes Manager, Matt Wimmer indefinitely for playing two illegal players after being advised by a league officer not to play them until approved knowing that this would be an exception to the MBA rules regarding the 30 mile radius. The two players from Mahnomen, Kody Lefebvre and Brian Schoenborn are suspended for one year, but may appeal and come before the MBA Board. The Detroit Lakes team’s roster is not frozen and the team is eligible for post season play for 2018 with a one year probation.
Motion Kreger, second Lemke, carried, to allowAlex Moses to play with Pelican Rapids
Motion Nagel, second Kreger, carried to deny Preston Riewer’s request to play with Dent. Riewer is outside the 30 mile radius and the Board did not make an exception to our radius rule. He may, however, play with any other team within his 30 mile radius for the 2018 season without any suspension. He is required to sign a release from Dent. Dent will not be required to forfeit the two games that Riewer played in and any Dent players participating in those games can count for eligibility for post season play. The MBA Board requires that all teams must use the GPS Visualizer for checking radius’s for all players in question.

Al Flor, New Ulm to gave an update on New Ulm’s projects and discussed 3rd site options for 2020 State Tournament. The group present from New Ulm recommended Springfield for it 3rd site and the Board delayed approval until our June meeting so that Board members that have not seen Springfield’s park the opportunity to do so prior to voting
Motion Kreger, second Brennan, carried to allow The Red River League’s request to allow Ada an extension to a 45 mile radius
Motion Roufs, second Nagel, carried to approve the following tournament sanctions: Moorhead Brewers tournament 6/22-6/24, and to allow teams to play Jamestown, ND and Sioux Falls, SD in the tournament Green Isle Irish and Hamburg Hawks tournament 6/21-6/24 Rosen Express tournament 6/22-6/24 and to allow teams to play Castlewood, SD in the tournament Arlington A’s/Gaylord Islanders tournament 6/15-6/17 Austin’s Spamtown tournament 6/21-6/24 and to allow teams to play Westmont, IL, Kewaskum, WI, and Sparta, WI New Prague tournament 6/8-6/10
