More than 500 national members of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) will attend its 52nd annual convention in Minneapolis on Aug. 7–11.
The event schedule is filled with meetings, exhibits, research presentations and a variety of featured speakers, including Twins Hall of Famers Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, Bert Blyleven, and Jim Kaat. Optional events include a St. Paul Saints game on Aug. 8 and a Twins game on Aug. 9.
In addition, a chartered bus will transport up to 30 conventioneers to Cologne for the Region 7C championship game on Sunday, Aug. 11. SABR is almost exclusively focused on professional baseball, and Brian Larson and Armand Peterson arranged the tour to showcase Minnesota town ball to a national audience.
