Class C Results
Nisswa 6, Ada 5 @ Hutchinson
Nisswa scored six runs in the second inning and hung on for a 6-5 victory over Ada. For Nisswa, Morgan Shepard was hit by a pitch and was followed by three straight walks to Mark Germain, Tyler Wittwer, and Brett Jenkins scoring the first run. Drew Boland then doubled in three runs and Adam Hardy singled in the final run.
Brett Kramer was the winning pitcher for Nisswa. He threw 5.2 innings giving up four runs two earned. He walked six and struck out five. Jamison Benson was the losing pitcher.
Fairmont 3, St. Cloud Snappers 1 @ Brownton
Brian Beuning threw all nine innings giving up only four hits and one earned run for Fairmont. He didn't walk a batter and struck out 12. Fairmont did their scoring in the second and third. In the second inning, Alex Schmidt singled in Max Waletich. In the third inning, Jon Wilson singled and scored when Adam Schmidt drilled a two run home run. Mike Hoelscher was the losing pitcher for the Snappers.
New Prague 8, Maple Lake 3 @ Hutchinson
Nick Rost picked up his second win of the tournament. He threw a complete game giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, all earned.. He had no walks and seven strike outs. Ross Skluzacek was 4-5 with two RBI for New Prague. Paul Buss hit a pinch hit RBI double in the 9th for New Prague. Adam Kock was the losing pitcher for Maple Lake.
Waconia 2, Prior Lake 1 @ Brownton (14 innings)
Chris Bullis scored the winning run in the bottom of the 14th inning when Prior Lake pitcher Derek Bergstrom tried to pick off a runner at first. The throw was wild and Bullis scored from third to end the 14 inning marathon 2-1 in favor of Waconia.
Tony Wischnnek tossed the first 9 innings for Waconia allowing only 1 unearned run on 6 hits, 3 walks and 6 strike outs. Chris Bullis pulled double duty and threw the last 5 innings for the win.
Prior Lake’s Ben Morrison was just as good as Wischnnek throwing the first 9 nnings allowing an earned run on 6 hits with 1 walk and 9 strike outs. Bergstrom got the loss for Prior Lake going 4.2 innings allowing only 2 hits and striking out 6 before making the throwing error.
Prior Lake scored their only run in the second inning when Ryan Rose doubled in Jake Lehrer. Waconia scored their other run in the sixth when Chris Bullis doubled in Ben Smothers.
Class B Results
Savage 17, Chaska 5 @ Glencoe
It was the Peterson show in Glencoe. Ryan, Tony, and Dylan all hit home runs and Savage pounded out 23 hits over eight innings to earn the ten run rule victory over chaska 17-5. Ryan was 2-3 with a double and home runand 3 RBI, Tony was 5-6 with four singles and a home run and 1 RBI and Dylan was 2-4 with a single and home run and 3 RBI. Cody Aasen also had a 3 run double.
Travis Pugliese pitched all nine innings for Savage, giving up 5 runs, 1 earned run with 1 walk and 2 stike outs. Losing pitcher was Ryan Seifert.
Burnsville 3, Miesville 2 @ Glencoe
Miesville scored the first run of the game on a Pat Pohl infield single in the top of the eighth inning. Burnsville came right back and scored three runs in the bottom when David Keeney was hit by a pitch, Matt Trocke bunted and Luke Rasmussen, the Miesville pitcher, threw it away down the right field line ending up with runners at first and third. Zach Harazin followed with his third hit of the day, an RBI double scoring Trocke. After a pitching change, Charlie Dubanoski was intentionally walked and Chad Eul singled in two more runs making it 3-1 Burnsville.
In the ninth, Matt Hanse singled in a run for Miesille. Miesville loaded the bases and Burnsville brought Garrett Walters in relief to face Matt VanderBosch. On a 3-2 pitch, VanderBosch grounded to first to end the game.
Grant Larson went 8 and 2/3 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 runs both earned, six walks and seven strike outs to earn the win. Luke Rasmussen was the losing pitcher for Miesville. Garrett Walters earned a save for Burnsville.
