Here are a few of the highlights from the April 14 MBA Board meeting…
The First Nite and Gopher Leagues will combine after their season schedule with all 16 teams and then will be placed in their regional tournament.
Region alignments were made; Region 1 will have the Eastern Minny and Lakewood National. In Region 10, it will be the Northwest Border, Norman Polk and North East Lake and Pine.
Three applicants for the position of MBA website columnist were in attendance – Andy Johnson (Stewartville/Racine), CJ Siewert (St. Peter) and Lee Larson (Jackson). Board members on the website committee – Dave Hartmann, Joe Kreger and Fred Roufs – offered the position to Siewert the following week and he accepted.
The Board met with operators of DaVinci Software and after discussing the expansion of services to the MBA website, a contract was accepted for DaVinci Software to be the overall manager of the website at a cost of $2,000.
A proposal was accepted to combine the North Star East and West. Seven of the teams would be placed in the region tournament according to their season standings. The bottom four teams in the league would have a playoff to decide the eighth and final team in the region tournament.
