Luke Bieniek led a 13-hit attack for the Opole Bears by going 3-5 with a double and an rbi as the Bears downed the visiting Freeport Black Sox 6-2 on Saturday.
Opole got on the board in the bottom of the 1st when both Drew Lange and Mavrick Novitski started the inning with singles, the Luke Bieniek singled to left to plate Lange and put Opole ahead 1-0.
Freeport grabbed the lead in the top of the 4th when Carter Neuenschwander singled, Iver Papke reached on a fielders choice and Matt Toutges walked. After Opole starter Drew Lange got a strikeout for the 2nd out, Dominic Ritter then loaded the bases with an infield single. Ben Millard then reached on an error and both Papke and Toutges scored to put the Black Sox up 2-1.
In the bottom of the 4th, Opole jumped back in front on singles from Isaiah Folsom and Masyn Patrick and a sacrifice bunt by Brodi Huls. Drew Lange then singled to right to drive in both Folsom and Patrick and put the Bears back in front 3-2 after 4 innings.
In the bottom of the 5th, Opole scored again on an rbi single from Isaiah Folsom, scoring Tate Lange to make it 4-2.
In the bottom of the 7th, Opole scored the final two runs of the game on a ground out by Dierks Opatz to score Luke Bieniek to make it 5-2. Then Jordan Schmitz scored from 3rd on a Black Sox error to make it 6-2.
