Drew Yourczek went 5-6 with a Home Run and 6 rbi’s to lead the Royalton Riverdogs to a huge 19-2 win over the St. Wendel Saints.
The Riverdogs wasted little time in getting to their former teammate Nathan Psyck. The veteran righthander and longtime ace of the Royalton staff, joined the St. Wendel Saints during the offseason and was on the mound to face his former team on Sunday. Grayson Suska led off with a walk and then Drew Yourczek Homered to right and just like that, Royalton was up 2-0. Tyler Jendro then doubled to left, and 1 out later, a 2-run Homer from Joey Guida made it 4-0 after half an inning.
In the bottom of the 1st, another former Riverdog and now current St. Wendel Saint, Zack Cekalla, greeted Royalton starter Marcus Hayes with a lead-off Homer to make it a 4-1 game.
In the top of the 4th, Royalton made it 5-1 on a solo Homer from Jaden Albright.
In the top of the 6th, The Riverdogs struck again when Keaton Nelson singled with 1 out, followed by a double from Jaden Albright. Ryan Snyder then singled to drive in both men and it was 7-1.
The lead grew again in the top of the 7th when Joey Guida was hit by a pitch, Ethan Albright singled and Jaden Albright walked to load the bases with 1 out. Another Ryan Snyder rbi single made it 8-1, Drew Yourczek then singled with 2 outs to bring in 2 more runs and Royalton’s lead was now 10-1 at the 7th inning stretch.
The Saints scored in the bottom of the 8th when Carter Voss opened the inning with a single, then later scored on a 2-out rbi single from Tanner Tomasek to make it 10-2 after 8 innings.
To leave no doubt, the Riverdogs then put up 9 runs in the top of the 9th. Jaden Albright walked, Ryan Snyder doubled and Grayson Suska was hit by a pitch to fill the bases with no outs. Drew Yourczek drew a walk to force in a run to make it 11-2. Tyler Jendro added an rbi single to make it 12-2, Spencer Friese had an rbi single to push another run across and it was 13-2. Ethan Albright singled with 1 out to drive in another run, then Keaton Nelson dropped an rbi single into center to make it 15-2. A bases-loaded walk to Jaden Albright made it 16-2, Grayson Suska added a 2-out, 2-run single to make it an 18-2 score. Drew Yourczek then capped off the huge inning with his 5th hit and 6th rbi of the game with single to right to make it 19-2.
In the bottom of the 9th, Royalton starter Marcus Hayes wrapped up his Complete Game with a 1-2-3 inning to close out the Riverdogs 19-2 win.
