The St. Wendel Saints shut out the Aitkin Steam 4-0 on Sunday as Chase Lyon fired a Complete Game 3-hitter with 11 strikeouts while walking 5.
The Saints scored the only runs they’d need in the bottom of the 1st on an rbi single from Cohen Habben and a sacrifice fly from Logan Harren to grab a 2-0 lead.
Zack Cekalla made it 3-0 in the bottom of the 4th when his rbi single brought home Will Ethen, who had reached base on an Aitkin error.
St. Wendel got their final run in the bottom of the 8th when Zack Cekalla was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in Brody Ulik to make it 4-0.
Chase Lyon took a no-hitter into the 7th, when Aitkin’s Landon Janzen broke it up with a 1-out single. Jake McGuire had singles in the 8th and 9th inning for the other 2 hits for Aitkin.
