Jack Primus and CJ Clear combined on a 2-hitter anf Travis Barthel blasted a Homer to lead the Upsala Bluejays to a 13-3 win in 7 innings at Flensburg on Sunday.
Upsala scored in the top of the 1st when Jack Primus led off with a single, but was caught stealing. Justin Cichon then walked, as did Matt Swanson. Jaxon Bartkowicz then singled to score Cichon and make it 1-0.
Upsala added 3 more in the top of the 2nd on a Justin Cichon rbi single, a Matt Swanson rbi single and another run-scoring hit from Jaxon Bartkowicz to make it 4-0.
In the top of the 4th, Justin Cichon added another rbi single to make it 5-0, then Brady Yourczek drilled a 2-run double to make it 7-0.
The Falcons made it 7-2 in the bottom of the 4th when Eli Epling singled to score Gunner Gustafson. The Falcons then executed a double steal with Simon Pantzke swiping home to make it 7-2 after 4 innings.
In the top of the 5th, Jaxon Bartkowicz doubled home Justin Cichon to make it 8-2.
In the bottom of the 6th, Simon Pantzke doubled to drive in Gunner Gustafson to make it 8-3 after 6 innings.
Upsala then scored 5 times in the 7th when Jack Primus singled and Justin Cichon doubled. A groundout by Matt Swanson brought in Primus to make it 9-3. Jaxon Bartkowicz then drove in Cichon with another groundout to make it 10-3. Brandon Welinski then walked, and Brady Yourczek doubled. Travis Barthel then hist his first Homer in an Upsala uniform, a 3-run shot, to make it 13-3.
Flensburg loaded the bases in the bottom of the 7th against CJ Clear on a walk to Juan Melanciano, a single from Dan Kokett and an error. But Clear got the final out on a pop up as the Bluejays had their 13-3 win.
